Mission Statment
The Association of Research Coordinators (ARC)
is a diverse group of research coordinators providing a
forum for communication, education and networking among
each other and with the goal of achieving excellence in
conducting clinical reasearch at NYU and Affliates.

Purpose of ARC
- To uphold and protect the rights and safety of subjects who
participate in clinical trials.
- To demonstrate leadership within the research community of NYU.
- To hold organized meetings to discuss the issues and concerns
of the members of the group and to establish "working groups"
that focus on these concerns.
- To create and manage an email list of ARC members, arc@med.nyu.edu,
as a means to facilitate communication.
- To create and manage a web page, arc.med.nyu.edu, that provides information
to the group about current and future events and provides links to other areas of
interest.
- To focus on education among current and new members,
establish orientation programs for new coordinators,
encourage accreditation for members' e.g. ACRP or SOCRA, and
to promote a general atmosphere of continuing education
extending beyond the scope of membership.
- To encourage and mentor any individual member in their
attempts at independent clinical research and to give support and
referrals when needed.
- To create uniform standards of care for the research patient and
to develop standard operating procedures that apply to all research patients.
- To promote collegiality among all members conducting clinical research at NYU.
